We have had a pretty amazing fall so far but going into Thanksgiving weekend we are getting the rain.  I don't mind... it is a good excuse to cozy up in the house and just relax or for me perhaps do a bit of crafting.

Of course if I must head out... will do so in style and have my nails all set as well.

Autumn Home Decor from an Old Pallet

I love to decorate my house for the seasons and holidays.  It makes me happy.  What also makes me happy is when I create my own decorations for next to nothing!  Here I have upcycled an old pallet.

My husband cut the pallet apart for me and then all the pieces just sat for a long time.  He was going to take them to the dump one day but I wouldn't let him.

So glad that I didn't :)

Up cycling items is a passion of mine and it is so satisfying to see the end product.  And now it sits on my fireplace mantle, nestled in some of my other decor.  I love to look at it, the worn, shabbiness of it - makes my heart happy.
