I know I have posted about it a few times.. Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal, Pumpkin Matcha Smoothie, Matcha Monday and Lemon Matcha Zucchini Flaxseed Muffins. So if you have followed my blog at all, you know that the reason I include Matcha daily is because it:
- is loaded with antioxidants: in fact it contains about 3 times more antioxidants than those found in other high quality green teas;
- it may help improve cholesterol and blood sugar levels;
- it may help reduce the risk of heart disease;
- matcha boosts energy and metabolism; (the increased energy was a side effect I was pleasantly surprised by!)
- it increases focus, and (yes it idoes!)
- can help improve skin health
Anyways, as I said, this is delicious! I can see this being a regular treat of mine.
Ingredients:
1 cup non dairy milk (I used Vanilla Almond)
1 tsp Matcha (I used Steeped Tea Vanilla Matcha)
1 tsp pure maple syrup
1 TBSP coconut oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
Put all ingredients into a small pot and whisk together while slowly heating to desired temperature. Pour into a mug and top with frothed milk (this is not necessary but adds to the 'treatness' of it ;)) and some decorative sugar (I used Steeped Tea Vanilla Maple Cinnamon sugar). Enjoy
Oh and if you are a coffee drinker... you can omit the froth milk... just keep this in the fridge as a yummy creamer for your coffee!
